With Nearly 4000 COVID-19 Cases In Last 24 Hours, Turkey's Tally Is Above 86,000 Which Is More Than China

On March 10, Turkey had reported just one coronavirus case, but since then things began to take a turn for the worst. One must remember that Turkey forms a bridge between Europe and Asia so as the disease spread across the two continents, it began to take the a huge bulk of infections.

The latest spike in the last 24 hours has actually seen the number of cases go up by 3977. Turkey has tested over 634,000 ever since it began to keep an eye on what is officially now a pandemic. 

Health Minister Fahrettin Koca said that the number of confirmed cases had risen to 86,306 as per a Reuters report. In fact that is the highest total for any country outside USA and Europe. While Turkey is technically in Europe, it is also part of Asia. Its overall tally now is more than China, were the virus originated from.

According to Koca, there have been another 127 deaths, meaning the overall death toll is 2017. So far 11,976 people have recovered and 35,344 people have been tested in the last one day. 

Worldwide, more than 165,000 people are dead due to coronavirus and over 2400,000 are affected.

More than 625,000 have recovered but it is still an uphill battle. The disease is holding the world hostage and right now life as we know it is at a standstill with everything being impacted by the virus. Normalcy is a distant dream and even when things do get back on track, they shall not be the same as before.
